After an awe-inspiring 38 years, Our Saviour Center’s Food Pantry has taken a monumental leap into the digital era!
Food assistance, a lifeline for many across the San Gabriel Valley, comprises a diverse range of programs from both government and nonprofit organizations. These initiatives are dedicated to improving access to food and nutrition for those facing food insecurity. It is heartening to see such efforts being made to address one of humanity's most basic needs.
In the year 2023 alone, Our Saviour Center extended its hand to over 32,800 individuals. And we also made a commitment to eradicate past inconveniences faced by our clients, such as protracted visits exceeding 1.5 hours and the need to line up in all weather conditions. We were aware that our clients frequently arrived several hours before opening time to avail themselves of our services.
After two years of meticulous planning and execution, we now stand in amazement as we declare — We did it!
We express our profound gratitude toward Mr. Joshua Nieto, a resolute intern/staffer from Cal Poly Pomona, and others from our local universities. Joshua’s dedication over the past six months, which involved the entry of over 5,400 client records into our system, has proven to be of immense value. We acknowledge his diligent efforts and deeply appreciate his significant contribution to the successful execution of this project.
The feedback from the volunteers, the clients, and the employees has all been positive. They like how this move online has made intake simpler and the whole system move quicker.
This is indeed a momentous achievement that leaves us awestruck. It's a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of everyone involved in the transition. Congratulations to Our Saviour Center on this significant milestone!
