In this Sunday’s Gospel passage the Pharisees try to trick Jesus by asking him where his loyalty lies—they ask him if it is right to pay taxes. Jesus tells them to give to the emperor the things due the emperor and to God the things that are God’s. Are we loyal to God in our giving? What do we owe to God?
