TRINITY SUNDAY TRIPLE D EXTRAVAGANZA: A Divine Celebration with Donuts, Dumplings, and a Dunk Tank!

Pentecost falls 50 days after Easter, and the first Sunday after Pentecost is Trinity Sunday. This year we observe Trinity Sunday on May 26th. While Christians everywhere celebrate the doctrine of the Trinity — the three Persons of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — COS will complement this liturgical feast with our “Triple D” delights of donuts, dumplings, and a dunk tank.

What better way to celebrate the Trinity than with a trinity of fun? The SPARK children's ministry will be serving up donut, and you can savor our Chinese ministry’s famous homemade dumplings. And finally, the third “D” will be the return of one of COS’s favorite attractions: the dunk tank. Not one, not two, but three beloved members of our clergy — Father Jeff, Father Tim, and Father Thomas — invite you to try to dunk them!

For $1 per ticket, attendees can taste the treats (3 tickets per donut/1 ticket per dumpling) or try their throwing arm at dunking a priest (1 ticket per throw), with all proceeds going toward supporting future special COS programs — like this one.

Also on this feast day, Church of Our Saviour will be honored to welcome a special guest preacher at the 8 am and 10 am worship services: the Rev. Robert Stevens, mentor of Father Jeff and rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Jeff served as a curate and then associate rector of St. John’s from 2008 to 2012. While under the guidance of Father Rob, Jeff was ordained a priest (in 2008) and married to Annie (in 2009). Eleanor was born just a few months before Annie and Jeff left St. John’s (in 2012). Rob continues to serve as St. John’s rector. He and his wife, Jennifer, will be with us for the weekend.

Trinity Sunday at Church of Our Saviour is not just another feast day on our liturgical calendar; it's a celebration of faith, fellowship, and fun. From our worship services to the threefold festivities of the Triple D Extravaganza, there's something for everyone to enjoy and participate in.

Please join us in celebrating Trinity Sunday with a Triple D extravaganza unlike any other. Let's eat, dunk, and rejoice together as we honor the mystery of the Holy Trinity and the bonds of fellowship that unite us all.
