Bob Crocker will join Church of Our Saviour as Director of Music beginning August 1. He comes to COS from St. George’s Episcopal Church, La Cañada, where he served as organist and choir director. Bob has many years’ experience serving as music director in Episcopal churches and in churches of other denominations.
In addition to his work in church music, Bob is the music teacher at Larchmont Charter High School, a public charter school in Koreatown. Bob has taught general music, choir, band, orchestra, speech and debate, and musical theater to all ages from preschool through college.
Bob earned a M. Mus. degree with a choral conducting emphasis from San Francisco State University. He has pursued additional training in liturgy, hymnody, organ, and vocal pedagogy.
He is a native of Buffalo, New York, (Go Bills!) and has lived in Eagle Rock for twenty years with his husband, Bill Gallimore, an assistant principal at Crescenta Valley High School. He loves camping, making meals with friends, and their cats, Ruth and Deborah.
Says Bob, “I’m excited that Church of Our Saviour has chosen me to head its choir and music programs and to help continue the impact of COS’s music in worship and in the community. It’s wonderful to be part of such a strong team of professionals and volunteers. I had the great experience of singing in the Anglican Chorale under former COS director Jim Person, and so I know that COS has a storied past in church music and a great future. And don’t forget, the first choir rehearsal this fall will be Thursday, September 7, at 7:00 pm. Email info@cosepiscopal.org for more information. We’ll see you there!”
